12 Greatest Computer Programmers Of All Time

Most of you might be knowing that who is called a Computer Programmer. If you do not know let me tell a computer program is someone who can create and modify computer programs. A computer programmer nowadays has many names like a developer, dev, coder, or software engineer .the Computer Programmer is the specialist in the area of Computer Programming. A multi-talented Computer programmer can write code for many kinds of computers and their software. The one who practices or professes to program can be also known as Programmer Analyst.Computer programmer do learn various programming languages like (Assembly, COBOL, C, C++, C#, Java, Lisp, Python, etc.

Nature of the Computer Programmers Work

Computer programmers work include many tough and surprising jobs like writing codes, testing codes, troubleshooting and debugging various problems in the software. Programmers work in many of the settings which include Information Technolgy(IT) departments, big software companies, small firms and for the government too. Well, many of the computer programmers also manage to give consultancy services to the big software companies and various clients. Computer Programmers do write programs according to the specifications that are determined by their senior programmers and program analyst.

Once the design project of the software is passed by the senior programmer and program analyst. Computer Programmer job is to convert the determined design into a logical series of instruction which will furtherly read by the computer. These long set of codes are written by many programmers in many computer programming languages A programmer has to use these programming languages depending on the purpose of the program he /she wants to make

For Example, Cobol Programming language is generally used for business applications, on the other hand, Programming languages like Fortran,, C++ and Perl etc are used for science and Engineering.

Main Jobs of a Computer Programmer

  • Testing
  • Debugging
  • Software Optimization and maintenance
  • Research and Development in Computer Science
  • Updating, modifying repairing, and expanding existing programs
  • Consultancy
  • Writing guides on technical issues and there guides and fixes.

So, without further delay, here I present you the 12 greatest Computer programmers of all time.

The Ada Lovelace is said to be the first computer programmer in the entire world.  Ada Lovelace became the first lady to publish an algorithm intended for implementation on Charles Babbage's analytical engine. She was the first to recognize the full potential of a "computing Machine". Ada Lovelace was quite interested in mathematics to form his childhood. The mathematical talent was only the thing helped Ada Lovelace to work with the fellow, British mathematician, Charles Babbage, also known as "the father of computers".

Ada Lovelace got inspired by her father. Around the age of  17,  Ada Lovelace meets the Charles Babbage and the pair becomes the friend.  Ada Lovelace got a chance to work on the machine before it was actually finished and was captivated by it. Babbage also created plans for another device known as the analytical engine, designed to handle the more complex mathematical calculations then before.
